On December 8, members of the Malta Confederation of Women’s Organizations (MCWO) and other distinguished guests joined U.S. Ambassador Douglas Kmiec in observance of the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women. The event, which was held at the Ambassador’s residence in Attard, was jointly organized by the U.S. Embassy and MCWO in an effort to raise awareness about gender-based violence and to raise funds for MCWO’s sterling work in promoting women’s rights and their participation at all levels of society.
