The U.S. Embassy in collaboration with the Maltese Confederation of Women’s Organizations (MCWO) will hold a digital video conference at the U.S. Embassy, Ta’ Qali on Wednesday September 26 at 7.00 pm.
The purpose of the DVC is to encourage more women to come forward and participate
in public service. The speaker will be Barbara B. Kennelly, former member of the U.S.
Congress, who represented the First Congressional District of Connecticut from 1982-1999
(click here for a full bio). Ms. Kennelly will speak for 30 minutes and will then take questions from the floor. Ms. Kennelly will share how she became engaged in politics, how she tried to balance work and family, as well as why it is important for women to be involved in public service. Following the DVC, U.S. Ambassador Gina Abercrombie-Winstanley will be available to converse with the audience.
Guests are requested to arrive at 6:00 p.m. when refreshments will be served, and be
